1. How does the kickTrak help me protect my baby?
kickTrak is a safe, reliable, non-invasive, hand-held, record-keeping device to help you keep a reliable diary of your baby's movements. The memory recall helps you quickly review the baby's movements over the last ten sessions. Changes in the data can help you identify potential problems, which may allow timely intervention. The concept of movements felt by mothers as an indicator of fetal well-being is based on more than four decades of worldwide scientific research.
2. Why don't I need to store more than ten kick count sessions?
Kick counting allows you to observe movement patterns and discover how long it normally takes for your baby to move ten times. Keep in mind that you and your obstetrical provider are looking for significant deviations from the normal pattern. The unit is designed so the ten most recent sessions are available to compare your kick count times. Storing ten days of kick count sessions is adequate for determining significant changes in your baby's movement pattern.
3. What is considered significant changes?
Be sure to discuss kick count instructions with your doctor.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that you should notify your healthcare provider if your baby takes longer than two hours to complete ten kicks or if there is a change in your baby's usual pattern. Some doctors may recommend you to contact your provider if your baby has not had five movements in one hour.
Beginning kick counting at 28 weeks allows you to become familiar with your baby's movement pattern. Your doctor may recommend starting as early as 24 weeks if your pregnancy is high-risk. Kick counting each day when your baby is most active gives you a sense of your baby's baseline pattern. If your baby's movements seem less than usual, you can look back at the kickTrak memory. If you notice a sudden or significant change in your baby's movements, repeat the count after drinking fluid or walking for a few minutes. If the time still seems to be longer than usual, contact your doctor immediately.

4. What are other benefits of using the kickTrak?
kickTrak can also be used to:
track your pregnancy weeks and days determined by your provider, count down the last 99 days of your pregnancy, and time your contractions when labor begins
5. Is kickTrak a medical device?
THE BABYKICK KICKTRAK IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND
SHOULD NOT BE USED OR RELIED UPON IN ANY WAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC
OR OTHER MEDICAL PURPOSES. ANY CONCERNS ABOUT YOUR PREGNANCY
SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO A MEDICAL PRACTITIONER.
The kickTrak is a record keeping aid intended to assist pregnant mothers in keeping track of their baby's kick activity during their pregnancy. The kickTrak should be used only in accordance with the instructions provided with the device. The kickTrak is not intended to be and should not be used as a substitute for regular prenatal care by an appropriate medical practitioner. You are encouraged to seek such prenatal care in connection with your pregnancy.
6. How early during pregnancy can I use the kickTrak?
You can use begin using the kickTrak as soon as you know about your pregnancy. kickTrak will keep track of your pregnancy progress in weeks and days. At 26 weeks to 28 weeks, or when recommended by your healthcare provider, you can begin using the kickTrak to keep track of your baby's movements.
7. How do I use the kickTrak?
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist recommends expectant mothers to note the time it takes for their baby to complete ten movements, at approximately the same time each day when the baby is usually most active. Press the large Kick button each time you feel the baby move. kickTrak will do the rest. It will play a tune to let you know when the ten movements are completed. It will automatically add the kick times to the memory for you to review. When ten memory positions are filled, each new session will replace the earliest session.
8. When should I delete a kick count session?
You may notice during a kick count session that you have become distracted, forgot to record each movement or did not finish the session. Rather than replace another recorded session with a time that you know is incorrect, simply delete the current entry.
9. How do I delete a kick count session?
Press and hold down both the large Kick and the small Mode buttons for approximately three seconds, until you hear a beep. This will erase your current information (kick count session in progress) while maintaining all your stored information in memory. Keep in mind, when ten memory positions are filled, each new session will replace the earliest session.
10. How do I time my contractions?
Press the large Kick button every time you feel a contraction. The elapsed time will show. The feet icons show the number of contractions you have entered. At the end of several contractions, you can press and hold down both the Kick and Mode button for approximately three seconds, until you hear a beep, to delete the session and prevent the recorded time from being stored in the memory. Contact your provider or go to the hospital when your contractions are uncomfortable or are regular with three or more contractions in ten minutes.
11. How do I mute the tune indicating the end of the kick session?
Press ANY Button while the tune is playing to stop the music.
12. Can I watch TV while I am doing the kick count?
Yes. Just press a button every time you feel your baby kick. kickTrak will let you know when ten kicks are done and will display the elapsed time.
13. How do I turn off my kickTrak?
kickTrak is environmentally designed to use minimal battery power. You do not need to turn kickTrak on or off.
14. How do I determine my pregnancy progress?
Your healthcare provider will take into account your last menstrual period and your ultrasound information to arrive at your due date. kickTrak will update your progress everyday. Ask your provider to give you your pregnancy dates.
15. What if I am not sure of my exact pregnancy weeks and days?
You can estimate your pregnancy weeks from the pregnancy calculator using your last menstrual period or your due date. You can change or update your dates after consulting with your provider.
16. Why doesn't my kickTrak kick counter beep when I enter a kick or movement?
kickTrak is designed to avoid the accidental recording of kick entries. Make sure to press the large Kick button firmly after each movement until a beep is heard. The beep is your indication that the movement has been recorded.
17.What do I do if the LCD display screen dims or fades?
Your batteries may be low; replace the batteries with 2 AAA Alkaline batteries.
18. When does my pregnancy count down begin?
The 99 days pregnancy day countdown will begin automatically ONLY when you have reached 25 weeks and five days.
19. My doctor has adjusted my due date. If I adjust my date in the kickTrak will it affect the stored times?
kickTrak conveniently stores your last ten sessions regardless of whether or not you adjust your due date. Update your pregnancy weeks and continue to record your fetal movement every day.
20. How long will the batteries last?
The 2 AAA Alkaline batteries should last for at least one year depending on use. However, we recommend replacing batteries with each new pregnancy. Please remove the batteries when kickTrak is not in use for an extended period of time.
21. The batteries were accidentally taken out of my kickTrak. While the batteries are removed, do I lose all the information stored in the device?
kickTrak is specially designed to temporarily hold your information in memory for two minutes while the batteries are being replaced. Insert the batteries and check to see if your information is still there - chances are the information remained stored in the memory.
22. Is kickTrak water resistant?
kickTrak is not water resistant. Please do not wet or immerse the device in water.
23. What is RoHS compliance?
babykick voluntarily follows the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive to limit the amounts of toxic waste. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of electronic and electrical equipment.
24. Can I use the kickTrak for another pregnancy?
Yes. kickTrak is built to last through multiple pregnancies. Please remove the batteries when kickTrak is not in use for an extended period of time.
25. Where can I find additional kickTrak instructions?
You can find more information on the kickTrak in the Owner's Manual and Quick Start Guide.
